This Week From PTA of AEA: On Stage & More

There’s lots to remember this week at PS 303. First, there is no school Tuesday; it’s Election Day. If you are registered to do so, please vote!

At 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Mrs. Leto invites you to join her in the Cafe for her “On Stage” event. Bring your questions to this open forum with the principal. The SLT meets earlier that morning, at 7:30.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, the PTA meets in the Cafe. We hope you’ll join us to discuss our fundraising successes so far, and plans for the upcoming holiday season. See you then!

You may have noticed something new on the paper calendars for November. Artist in Focus is a new after-school program for our very talented first-grade students. In this pilot program, students will explore, create and replicate styles of famous painters. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about the lives and inspirations of artists such as Piet Mondrian, Joan Miro, Georgia O’Keeffe and Andy Warhol to name of few. The students participating have already been selected and notified.

Thank you to everyone who baked, helped and ate (and drank all the coffee!) at our Harvest Parade bake sale. The grand total we raised was (drum roll, please … ):

And thanks to everyone who posted photos in our closed PTA Facebook group. Please join us if you haven’t already. You’ll need to answer a few questions first, to confirm you are a member of our school community.

The first deadline for our Shop With Scrip gift-card fundraiser is coming up next week on Nov. 15. This fundraiser allows you to purchase gift cards for holiday giving — or for treating yourself! Cards ordered by the first deadline will be distributed before the end of the month for Hanukkah giving. If you would like a new paper order form, please email us at 303pta@gmail.com. Or, if you’d like to place your order online, where more stores are available, go to ShopWithScrip.com, select “Join a Program” and enter the code: 7277669D61775

We’ll have a second due date after Thanksgiving for delivery later in December.
