Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month
In honor of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Racial Equity Committee is hosting an afternoon of fun and learning about the artist, Ruth Asawa. On Monday, May 17 at 4pm, the Racial Equity Committee will be reading a book, talking about Ruth Asawa’s art and showing how to do your own Ruth Asawa-inspired sculptures. All AEA students are welcome to join! Please RSVP here.
In addition, the Racial Equity Committee will be hosting its monthly meeting for parents on Tuesday, May 18 at 7pm where they will be talking about upcoming June activities. Please email them if you would like to attend at 303racialequity@gmail.com.
Teacher Appreciation Week

1st Day School Supplies
We are partnering with 1st Day School Supplies again this year to help make purchasing school supplies for next year super easy! If you’d like get an early start to buying school supplies for next year, you can start placing your orders now with the deadline being July 1, 2021. A reminder that this is completely optional, you do NOT have to purchase through 1st Day Schools Supplies if you do not want to. You may purchase your school supplies elsewhere once the teachers make the supplies list available. This is purely an option for those who’d prefer to have the convenience of doing so. Summer Rising Program
We know a lot of families are thinking about the DOE’s Summer Rising Program, which runs from 8 am to 6 pm during the summer. Currently, PS 175 is scheduled to be the site for PS 303 students as well as students from seven or eight other nearby schools. Please note: this is all subject to change depending on how many children enroll and as the DOE builds out the program. Please see the SLT memo for more details.
CEC Elections
The CEC elections have begun and will be running until Tuesday, May 11! This is the first time that parents can vote directly for their preferred candidate. Please see the previous email for FAQs and additional details.
