We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the wonderful weather we’ve been having! May is also Jewish American Heritage Month, and we are happy to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Jewish Americans!

As the month of May is a very busy month with different celebrations and commemorative events, we would like to share resources with you compiled by the Racial Equity Committee to use at home with your children. Please see below for more events and announcements, thanks!

An Afternoon of Learning about Ruth Asawa
The Racial Equity Committee is hosting an afternoon of fun and learning about the artist, Ruth Asawa. On Monday, May 17 at 4pm, the Racial Equity Committee will be reading a book, talking about Ruth Asawa’s art and showing how to do your own Ruth Asawa-inspired sculptures. All AEA students are welcome to join! Please RSVP here.

In addition, the Racial Equity Committee will be hosting its monthly meeting for parents on Tuesday, May 18 at 7pm where they will be talking about upcoming June activities. We want to be inclusive and invite all families to join and actively participate in the Racial Equity Committee. Please email them if you would like to attend at 303racialequity@gmail.com.

AEA Return to School Form
The school administration is looking ahead to program classes for the 2021-2022 school year. Please fill out the form (1 form per family) by May 31 to let them know if your child(ren) will be returning to AEA in September 2021. Please note that Ms. Donna does not work over the summer, and if your child will be attending a different school in September, they will need records from AEA. Letting the administration know your plans now for September will allow them to prepare such information before the end of the school year as well as accurately plan for our own classes for the fall.
