Our Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser has begun and is off to a good start! Thank you to all the families who have sent in their orders. If possible, please send in a check payable to the PTA of AEA instead of cash. Please know that depending on the size of your order, it will either be sent home with your child or we will arrange a pick up time with you (for large orders). Learning from our past experience with the pie fundraiser, we will make sure to accommodate the schedule of working parents.
Talking about Food Fundraisers… Is anybody ready for delicious chocolate treats? Our Miss Chocolate Sale will be starting soon just in time to deliver the goodies for Passover and Easter.
We are forming two committees at our next PTA meeting – officer nominations and by-laws. The flyer for the nomination committee was sent home recently. For those of you who wish to help our AEA community by running for office – great! But even if you do not wish to run, your participation on the committee is still a huge help! There will also be a flyer coming home soon to form a committee to amend our PTA bylaws. Please give it some thought and participate. We definitely need your help!

Please note that the venue has changed. This month’s CEC is hosted by P.S. 354, The STEM Institute of Queens, 126-10 Bedell St, Jamaica, NY 11434. D28 Councilwomen Adrienne Adams will be attending, the School Construction Authority will give an outlook of their plans for our district and there will be a presentation about Special Education Services. We encourage you to attend this meeting.

Thursday, February 13th – PTA Meeting at 7pm. Raffle prizes: 2 winners, Boon bags filled with goodies.
Bylaw committee and Nominating committee – we are still awaiting volunteers for both of these.
Friday, February 14th – “Share the Love” Parent Event at 8:30am.
Mid Winter Recess – NO SCHOOL, February 17th thru February 21st.
Wednesday, February 26th – PreK Non-Attendance Day. NO SCHOOL FOR PRE-K STUDENTS ONLY.
Thursday, March 5th – Early Dismissal for all students. Parent/Teacher Conference Day.
