District 28 Diversity Plan updates
District 28 was awarded a grant to create a Diversity Plan, which is a community engagement & planning process to increase middle school diversity and academic outcomes for all students. To learn more, please see the outline attached below and visit www.d28diversityplan.com. Please send questions, comments and concerns directly to info@D28diversityplan.com.  You can also reach out to the PTA or our parent coordinator, Jainnie Hackman, if you have questions.
WXY Group, the consultants running the D28 Diversity Plan, will present their process and goals at the CEC meeting on Thursday, December 5th at 6:30PM, 90-27 Sutphin Boulevard, Jamaica, NY 11435. We encourage all parents to attend and stay informed.

Pie pick-up on Tuesday 11/26
If you ordered a pie, you should have received an email with pick-up information.  Please reach out to us if you have not received any notification.

Stomping Ground sibling pictures and retakes on 12/3
You should have received your Stomping Ground access code to view and order photos.  The jumping photos were amazing, right?  The first order deadline is Tuesday, December 3, 2019.  Those orders should arrive at the school by Tuesday, December 17, 2019.Retakes and sibling photos will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.  Please note that you need to register for retakes and sibling photos through the link below.  There is a second grade field trip that day, but the school is aware of it and the second graders will take their retakes and sibling photos before they leave.

Stomping Ground Sibling Photos and Retakes (12/3)

Town Hall Safety Meeting (12/3 at 2:30 pm in Room 174)

School Leadership Team (SLT) Meeting (12/4 at 7:30am)
The SLT Meeting is open to all interested parents. Please note that you must inform Ms.Gallo (sgallo@schools.nyc.gov) if you wish to speak or ask questions.
CEC Meeting (12/5 at 6:30pm, 90-27 Sutphin Blvd, Jamaica)
This is an important meeting to attend if you would like to get first hand information or ask questions regarding the D28 diversity process.  WXY will be presenting about the D28 diversity process.
Pajama Drive (until 12/4)
Our annual Pajama Drive is ongoing and runs till Wednesday, December 4.  Please donate new pajama sets (all sizes).  You can send your pajama sets in with your child.  Make sure to also decorate your “pajama” cutouts so we can place them on our bulletin board.
Toy Drive (until 12/8)
The PTA is supporting Yuval, one of our 4th graders, and his mom Avital in organizing a toy drive for Kids Need More (KNM).  Kids Need More is a non-profit organization that helps kids with cancer and their families at their most difficult times.  Each year, KNM organizes cheer buses that drive to families’ homes in Queens and Long Island to bring them Holiday Cheers and many gifts.  Last year they had 13 buses visiting 230 families.  This year we hope to make a real difference with our toy collection.   https://kidsneedmore.org/
