Happy Thanksgiving week, everyone! Thanks to all who joined us at last Thursday’s PTA meeting. If you were at the Brilliant NYC town hall, or otherwise busy that night, here’s a bit of what you missed.
We’re having a fundraiser with Kew & Willow Books starting Sunday, Nov. 28! For the whole week, if you mention PS 303 at the register or use the code PS303Q at the online checkout, the PTA will get 15% of your purchase. You’ll also be entered into a lottery for free books! Please see the flyer linked here or below.
We’ll also be starting our annual appeal later this week. This is the PTA’s biggest fundraiser, which allows us to do everything we do to support our students’ academic and arts curriculum. Keep an eye on your student’s folder for more info and a donation form.
Don’t forget to order your student’s pictures from Stomping Ground Photo! The first deadline is coming up on Dec. 6, and the number of orders placed will affect the percentage of sales the PTA receives as a fundraiser. So please order now if you’re happy with your photos. If you’re not, please sign up for a retake on Monday, Dec. 13, by using this Google form. You can also sign up for sibling photos if you’re interested in purchasing those. We hope everyone stays safe from Covid-19, especially if you’re traveling or gathering with friends or family to celebrate this week. If your pandemic plan includes getting vaccinated, remember that the PTA of AEA is a vaccine referral bonus partner with the city. When you make an appointment or check in to get a first dose at a NYC-run location (like Citi Field, Queen Center Mall, or another popup site), be sure to mark that the PTA of AEA referred you. Our organization will receive $100 for the referral! This is separate from the incentives the city is offering individuals, so you’re still eligible for a gift card, too. This isn’t just for students: Anyone who’s getting a first dose can mention the PTA. If we can get 200 people to mention us, we’ll receive $20,000! There’s no school on Thursday, Nov. 25, and Friday, Nov. 26, for Thanksgiving. We hope everyone has a happy and healthy break!
